Shah Stadium - Karachi, June 17, 2004 : In
connection with the 3 one day friendly Cricket Series
between Pakistani & Indian Bohra Cricket Teams,
the third one day match ended in a Tie. The day night
match, which was played at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium,
Karachi, remained interesting and poised till the last
over.
The Pakistani Team made 132 runs
for 9 wickets with their batsman Baqir scoring 51 runs
was declared man of the match and batsman of the series.
The Indian team followed with a good start but suddenly
lost quick wickets and finally made 132 runs for 9 wickets.
From the side Murtaza Lodger performed well by taking
6 wickets for 86 runs.
The Indian crricket team has specially
come to Karachi at the invitation of the Bohra Community
in Pakistan. This goodwill tour between the two countries
was arranged as celebration for the 93rd Salgirah of
Syedna Muhammed Burhanuddin Saheb TUS in Pakistan.
The match was played in friendly
atmosphere clearly demonstrating the message of peace
and understanding between India and Pakistan which the
leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, Dr. Syedna Mohammed
Burhanuddin TUS has always advocated. The match was
witnessed by family members of His Holiness TUS and
Office Bearers of Karachi Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat along
with the community crowd.
